[Reversed Science Café] How can I contribute to scientific research?

  • RSC Belgium

Welcome to the Sparks Reversed Science Café in Belgium!

Science is advancing fast. If scientists want to translate the most recent advances into useful applications, for example to improve our healthcare, then they need to be able to test these with people like you, your neighbour, your hairdresser or baker, but also your parents, children, or grandchildren. This is the only way for scientists to know how safe or efficient their new discoveries and developments are. Moreover, this also allows patients to find their way to new technologies faster.

Europe has very strict rules that guarantee the your safety and everyone around you. In addition, Europe also encourages maximal transparency by a very strict information duty. As a “citizen”, you don’t have to be passive! It is important that your voice gets heard as well. That means it is crucial to reflect on what you think is important, whether you are young or less young, healthy or not, … The doctors and researchers at this event challenge you to think and want to know your opinion. The world on its head in this reverse science café!
Co-organised by Technopolis (Sparks partner), Ghent University and Ghent University Hospital.
